In 2009, novel "Bobby's Diner" received two finalist awards. One for the National Best Books Award (USA Book News), and another for the Next Generation Indie Book Awards.

Wingate's novella, "Camouflage" received a Finalist Award and an Editor's Choice Award in the 2009 Textnovel.com Writing Contest. The novella is now being represented by an agent.

Wingate's pseudonyms include, Myah Lin (literary fiction) and JJ Adams (mystery).

A seasoned speaker, Wingate offers six writing workshops at conferences, libraries and bookstores.
